Can My Extensions Be Removed?

Yes, they can be removed. We use our special tool to open the micro link and then reheat the Keratin. It slides right off.

Does The Price Include The Hair?

Yes, the price your stylist quotes to you includes the cost of the hair.

Will The Attachments Damage My Hair?

No. We will not use any attachment method that damages your hair. Some salons use a Keratin glue that cannot be removed, causing the hair to break off when you try to remove them. Our method is safe for your hair.

How Long Will It Take To Put In My Extensions?

We generally figure, as a rough estimate, about a minute per extension, plus about 15 minutes setup time. So, putting in 100 extensions would take about 2 hours.

How Many Extensions Do I Need?

Again, it depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you want extensions all the way around your head for length, we will put in around 100 to 120. If, in addition, you want to add fullness on top, we will put in 20 to 40 more. As a further guide, thin hair requires fewer extensions and thick hair requires more extensions.

Can My Extensions Be Colored?

You cannot change the color is fiber extensions. For human hair extensions, you can color them darker, however, it is not recommended to take them lighter. It is also highly recommended you have your coloring done in the salon as your hair and the extension hair may take color differently. You stylist can make sure the color comes out even.

How Long Will They Last?

They will generally last 4 to 6 months, depending upon how fast your hair grows and how you take care of the extensions.

OK. I Want Extensions. What Do I Do Next?

Get started by calling us for a consultation appointment. Your consultation will only take 10 minutes and there is no charge. During the consultation, your stylist will work with you to determine what you want to accomplish, give you the cost, and do a color match. We can then schedule your appointment to put in your extensions.

How Do You Attach The Extensions?

We use a combination of Keratin fusion and micro links. First, we tip the extensions with Keratin (your hair is partly made of Keratin). To attach the extensions, we pull a bit of your hair through a micro link (small copper tube) and push it up close to the scalp. Then we insert the tip of the extension into the micro link and apply a small amount of heat, enough to melt the Keratin, fusing it with your hair. Lastly, we use a special tool to squeeze the micro link, forming a double tight bond to your hair.

What Will My Extensions Cost?

The cost of your extensions will depend upon several factors: the type of hair extensions we use, and how many you need to accomplish your goal. For example, human hair costs considerably more than fiber. And adding extensions all around for length requires more extensions than adding a bit of fullness to your hair. Your stylist will work with you and let you know the cost of what you want to do.

How Do I Care For My Extensions?

We recommend that you tie your hair up each night. If you don’t, they will tangle while you sleep and you may even pull on them inadvertently. When you have tangles, if you pull hard on them, they may split or pull out. When brushing, hold the extensions near the micro links with one hand while you brush with the other hand, starting at the bottom of your hair. Any quality shampoo should be fine. Use a good conditioner as you would with your own hair. When you shampoo or apply conditioner, do not scrunch your hair or use a scratching motion. Instead, apply these in long motions from the micro links to the ends of the hair. Also, when drying, just pat dry or place between the towel and press.

Will Any Of The Extensions Fall Out?

When putting in a lot of extensions, it is not uncommon for a few to come out. Just save them and we can put them back in.

How Long Before I Can Get My Extensions?

We usually mix colors to match your hair exactly. Doing this mixing also gives a richer look, with more depth, much like highlights. After your consultation, if we have the colors in stock that we can mix to match your hair, we can schedule your appointment right away. If we have to order hair for your color, we will need 4 or 5 business days. In cases where the color we need to order is not one we usually use in mixing, we may ask for a deposit before ordering the hair.

Is There A Maintenance Plan For My Extensions?

During the first 3 months, a few extensions may fall out. Save them and bring them in so we can put them back in. After about 3 months, it is time to begin maintaining your extensions. To avoid replacing your entire set of extensions when your hair grows out, we recommend moving or replacing extensions some of the extensions monthly, beginning with those that may be damaged or are likely to be the first to show. We will work within your budget to determine how many to mover or replace. Maintaining your extensions this way means you can wear your extensions for years without having the large expense of re-doing them all at once.
